How many microns is 1 oz copper?
1 oz/ft² of copper equals about 34.79 µm (0.0348 mm, 1.37 mil) of finished thickness. Half-ounce (½ oz) is about 17.4 µm and 2 oz is about 69.6 µm.
How do I convert oz to mm for PCB copper?
Multiply the copper weight in ounces by 0.03479 to get millimetres. For example, 1 oz × 0.03479 = 0.0348 mm, and 2 oz = 0.0696 mm.
What is oz to micron for copper?
Multiply ounces by 34.79 to get microns (µm): 0.5 oz = 17.4 µm, 1 oz = 34.79 µm, 1.5 oz = 52.2 µm, 2 oz = 69.6 µm, 3 oz = 104.4 µm.
Is copper weight the base or finished thickness?
Copper weight describes the base foil. After plating (e.g. through-hole or via plating) the finished copper is thicker, and after etching feature widths shrink. For controlled impedance or fine lines, confirm the finished copper with your PCB manufacturer.
